Man Escapes Fire In Yorktown Tuesday Morning

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A man survived a fire in his home on Sheila Court in Yorktown early Tuesday morning, Yorktown firefighters said. 

The Yorktown Fire Department battled a fire early Tuesday. A man who was home at the time was able to escape the fire, fire officials said.

The man was the only person at home at the time of the fire that began just before 4 a.m., Tuesday, Yorktown fire officials confirmed. It was unclear whether the man was the only resident of the home but the single-story house was considered to be a near total loss, fire officials confirmed Tuesday afternoon.
