YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A Yorktown man was arrested  last week and charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana after police said they pulled him over on Crompond Road for crossing a double yellow line and driving on the shoulder.

Alex Garcia, 26, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of .18 percent or more, both misdemeanors. He was also in possession of 1.02 grams of marijuana wax, a violation, police said.

Garcia was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing and was released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on June 1 at 6 p.m.
