An arrest warrant for Richard Doyle, 56, of Mahopac claims that he literally “tortured” the sick animal by attempting to drain a cyst, according to a report in the Danbury News-Times.

He was charged with animal cruelty and practicing veterinary medicine without a license, The News-Times story said.

Doyle no longer owns the Animal Breeders store in Danbury but still runs a shop in Mohegan Lake.

According to a report on Daily Voice, Doyle has previously been charged with animal cruelty in connection with a surgical procedure performed on the eye of another dog.

He was also accused of not providing proper medical care for a puppy and a kitten, which both had to be put to sleep, an earlier Daily Voice story said.
