The Mohegan Lake teen, if he were an adult, would be charged with a misdemeanor count of falsely reporting an incident in the third-degree, police said.

The teen’s parents informed Lakeland High School officials that their son had been receiving threatening emails, according to police.

Authorities investigated the situation, and learned that the alleged threatening emails actually did not happen, police said.

Officials allege the boy falsely reported the incident, and charged him with juvenile delinquency.

The teen was processed on the charge and released to his parents, police said.

He is scheduled to appear at the Westchester County Department of Probation Wednesday, July 1, court records show.
