Police said a report was received of a possible intoxicated female operating a gray Volkswagen on Route 6. The vehicle in question was observed on Route 6 near East Main Street by an officer and stopped, according to police. An investigation revealed Varone had allegedly operated the Volkswagen while intoxicated, according to police.
Varone was arrested at the scene and transported to police headquarters where was additionally charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated following a breath test, police said. Varone was issued a traffic summons and released on her own recognizance. Varone is scheduled to answer charges in Yorktown Court on Tuesday, May 26 at 6 p.m.
