Vincenzo Legato, 36, of 11 Valley View Terrace, was arrested in Bedford by Yorktown police officers assisted by the Bedford Police Department.
A Gomer Street resident, police said, called headquarters Sunday just after 3 p.m. and said she had been receiving threatening phone calls.
Two officers responded and were told that Legato had called the home and threatened to harm the woman and her family, police said.
On further questioning, they were told Legato had been to the home at approximately 2:30 p.m. that day and deliberately caused $800 in damages to a BMW owned by a family member of the victim, police said.
The officers contacted the Bedford Police Department, who detained Legato at 286 McClain St. and held him until the Yorktown officers arrived. They took Legato to police headquarters and there placed him under arrest.
He was arraigned, had bail set at $25,000 and served with a temporary Order of Protection. He was held at Westchester County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown court Thursday at 6 p.m.
He is charged with third degree criminal mischief and second degree aggravated harassment.
