YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The New York Police Department apprehended and turned over a suspect to the Yorktown Police Department Monday, a year after a warrant was issued for his arrest, police said.

Christopher B. Malfetano, 36, of Germantown, was wanted in Yorktown for his role in a domestic dispute Jan. 15, 2012, when police said he allegedly punched a female victim in the face, according to the report. After several unsuccessful attempts to have Malfetano appear at police headquarters, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Malfetano was apprehended on the warrant Monday by the NYPD. Yorktown police officers picked up Malfetano from the 49th precinct in the Bronx and transported him back to Yorktown for processing. He was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and is being held at Westchester County Jail without bail.
