Peekskill Man Charged With Traffic Violations In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Edgar E. Lavado, a Peekskill resident, was charged Friday with numerous traffic violations, according to Yorktown police.

Police said an officer was on patrol when he observed a vehicle being operated above the posted speed limit, doing 55 mph in a 40 mph zone. The vehicle was stopped and the officer found that Lavado was operating the vehicle while his New York state driving privilege was suspended, police said. Lavado was placed under arrest and transported to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, no front plate, a traffic infraction, an obstructed view, a traffic infraction.

Following processing on the charges, Lavado was issued an appearance ticket and released after posting $250 bail. Lavado is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, April 7, at 6 p.m.
