Woman Charged With Driving With A Suspended License In Yorktown

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Yorktown Police Department arrested Gail M. Gallante, 62, of Lake Peekskill, N.Y., and charged her with driving with a suspended license and using an electronic device while driving Monday, March 16, according to police.

Officer Keith Fortunato was on patrol when he said he observed Gallante texting while operating a vehicle that was traveling east on East Main Street in Yorktown. The vehicle was stopped and after checking Gallante's driver's license, the comptuer revealed the license was suspended, police said.

Gallante was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and use of electronic device while operating a motor vehicle, police said.

Gallante was arrested at the scene and transported to police headquarters. She was issued a traffic summons and released on $100 bail. She is scheduled to answer charges April 16 in Yorktown Court.
