Police Charge Suspect, ID Victim In Fatal Poughkeepsie Shooting

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- A City of Poughkeepsie man has been charged in the fatal shooting of Davion Reid, 42, who was found shot multiple times in his car on Tuesday on South Grand Avenue.

Reid, also known as Kevin Morris, was found at 9:46 a.m. at 129 South Grand Ave., after police received multiple 911 calls, said City of Poughkeepsie Detective Lt. Matt Clark.

Reid had been shot multiple times in the head and body. He was pronounced dead later at a local hospital, Clark said.

Following an investigation, police charged Jermaine Johnson, 37, a City of Poughkeepsie resident, with murder, Clark added.

Johnson is being held without bail pending an arraignment later Wednesday.
