Police Investigate Potential Million-Dollar Burglary In Westchester

Police are investigating a burglary from a Westchester jewelry store that reportedly may have seen suspects take off with upwards of a million dollars in merchandise, though that figure is unconfirmed.

Investigators from the New Rochelle Police Department were active at New Rochelle Coin & Jewelry on Division Street on Friday morning, where there was an overnight burglary, with suspects stealing merchandise after accessing the building through the roof, police said.

New Rochelle Police Capt. Robert Gazzolla said that officers were dispatched to the store shortly before 9 a.m. on Friday morning, when the owner opened for the day and found that "the premise was ransacked and numerous pieces of jewelry were missing." He said the exact value of the stolen property is unknown.

The New Rochelle Police Department Property Theft and Forensic Unit detectives are actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information has been urged to contact police by calling (914) 654-2275.
