Police Locate Missing Man Last Seen At Westchester Train Station

Updated: The Yonkers Police Department announced on Tuesday, Feb. 6 that Jan Szumny has been located safely. No additional details were immediately available.

An alert has been issued for a missing 58-year-old man from Westchester who may be suffering from mental illnesses.

Jan Szumny of Yonkers was last seen at the Larchmont Metro-North station on Wednesday, Yonkers Police said.

Police said that Szumny “is a missing vulnerable adult with a mental health history” that may appear to be disoriented or confused. He is described as a 5-foot-8 white male with gray hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who spots Szumny or knows of his whereabouts have been asked to contact the Yonkers City Police Youth Crime Unit by contacting officers at (914) 377-7900 and referencing case number 2018-012497.
