At approximately 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, April 23, police were conducing auto larceny patrol on Gate House Road - a larceny prone area in Scarsdale - when they spotted 41-year-old Dorothy Lamore pull her car to the side of the roadway, get out and walk onto the front lawn of a nearby property.

According to police, officers continued to observe Lamore as she walked not eh property’s front lawn and then into an area lined with trees on the property. Due to the recent vehicle break-ins throughout the village at similar times of night, the woman was deemed suspicious.

After being approached by the officers, Lamore stated, “I’m good,” and re-entered her still running vehicle, police said. When inquired as to what she was doing, Lamore was unable to provide a good reason, and officers reported that she “was very deceptive and could not give a good reason for why she was in the area.”

“(Lamore) stated she was coming ‘home’ in Pleasantville and traveling to ‘home’ in Pleasantville,” according to the police report. “(She) also stated her husband was right around the corner,” though she could not provide an exact location. Lamore also said several times during the interview that she “pulled over to relax.”

Lamore failed several Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, and officers said they had to repeat the instructions to her several times before she attempted. She then refused to submit to an alco-sensor pre-screening test. After being advised of her DWI warning three separate times, she continued to refuse to submit to a breath test.

Police placed Lamore under arrest and charged her with driving while intoxicated and refusal to take a breath test. A computer check of her revealed a past criminal history from Atlanta, but there were no current warrants. Additional information regarding her past criminal history was not immediately available.

Lamore was released on $100 cash bail and released to the custody of her husband. She is due back in Scarsdale Village Court later this year.
