Troopers in Cortlandt stopped a car about 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, in Cortlandt and found three people inside and "several thousand dollars worth of clothing stolen from a number of area businesses including the Kohl's in Cortlandt and the Sears in the Jefferson Valley Mall, in Yorktown," state police said.

Driver Robin Mindingall, 56, and her two passengers, Barry M. Brown, 53, and Louis S. Nowell, 61, all White Plains residents, were arrested and charged with one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a Class E felony, punishable by up to four years in state prison.

Mindingall was processed and released on an appearance ticket, ordering her to appear in the Town of Cortlandt Court on Jan. 24. Brown and Nowell were arraigned in Cortlandt Town Court and were sent to Westchester County Jail without bail, and given a court date of Jan. 17.

As part of the investigation into the three suspects, State Police are continuing to look at any connection to other crimes in Westchester, according to the report.
