Two Arrested On Marijuana Charges In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Brian Lewis, a 23-year-old Jefferson Valley resident, and an 18-year-old Yorktown resident were charged with criminal possession of marijuana on Saturday, Sept. 6.

The 18-year-old's name was withheld due to possible eligibility for youthful offender status,

Police say the two defendants were spotted smoking marijuana at 1974 Commerce St. Further investigation revealed that the defendants allegedly possessed 100 grams of marijuana, according to police.

The defendants were arrested and transported to Yorktown police headquarters for processing. They were released to a friend who posted $50 each for their bail. They are scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Saturday, Oct. 4.
