YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have issued summonses to two men who allegedly tried to solicit business for a remodeling company without the proper permit.

An officer was dispatched to Farm Walk Road after a report of a town code violation about 12:45 p.m. Thursday, police report.

Following an investigation, it was alleged that two men, identified as Samuel H. Gissen, 25, of Ossining, and Stephen R. Crook, 25, of Oak Lawn, Ill., solicited business for Power Home Remodeling Group without having a valid Yorktown peddlers permit, officials report.

Gissen and Crook were issued summonses for peddling without a permit, a violation of the Yorktown town code, according to police.

Following processing on the charge, Gissen and Crook were issued appearance tickets at the scene, officials report.

The two men are due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, April 21, according to police.
