Stephen Blumenstetter, 29, and Chad E. Young, 31, were pulled over on Route 6 at around 8:10 p.m. after being alerted to possible drug activity. It is alleged that Young failed to maintain a lane and was in possession of 37 envelopes of heroin residue and that Blumenstetter possessed 15.2 grams of heroin, according to police.
Both men have been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, and Young was also charged with failure to maintain a lane, a traffic infraction, according to Yorktown police.
Young was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Yorktown Justice Court. Blumenstetter was remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail and is due in Yorktown Justice Court Tuesday, police said.
