Two Dead After BMW Convertible Strikes SUV Off Hutchinson River Parkway

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. – Two men were killed early on Wednesday morning when a driver lost control and overturned his vehicle on a Mount Vernon road.

The BMW convertible came to a rest on its roof in Mount Vernon, both the driver and passenger died in the accident.

Police confirmed that shortly before 5 a.m. on Wednesday, a BMW convertible struck a parked SUV on East Third Street near the end of an exit ramp on the Hutchinson River Parkway, flipping several times before coming to a rest, several feet away, on its roof.

Reports say that the impact of the collision pushed the SUV several feet forward into other parked cars.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Their identities have not yet been released. East Third Street was closed for several hours on Wednesday morning during the morning rush hour, as police continued their investigation into the crash.
