The 36-year-old suffered a “deep wound” to his left hand during the Monday morning attack and was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital Center for treatment, according to police. He was released several hours later.

Charged in connection with the attack are Kevin Canales, 20, of Maple Avenue and a 16-year-old boy whose name was withheld because of his age, according to police.

According to authorities, the 36-year-old told investigators that he was walking along Lexington Avenue near Mardino’s restaurant shortly after 6 a.m. Monday when two men “motioned to him and attempted to lure him into an alleyway.”

The man ignored the luring attempt, but was then grabbed from behind by one attacker while another lunged at him with a knife, according to police, who said the 36-year-old raised his hand in defense and was wounded.

The 36-year-old then went to Henry’s Deli at 351 Lexington Ave. to report the incident to police, according to authorities.

After investigating the incident throughout the day, Westchester County police arrested Canales and the unnamed teen about 8:30 p.m. on Monday night, according to authorities.

According to police, both Canales and the teen were held in the Westchester County jail Tuesday on $2,500 bail. Each suspect faces a felony county of second-degree assault.
