Two Yorktown teens were arrested after police say they drove over a lawn at Lakeland High School, causing $2,000 in damage.

Police received a report about the incident on July 16. Six days later, on Saturday, July 22 at 10:50 p.m. on a routine patrol, police observed a pickup truck matching the description of one of the vehicles involved in the incident.

An investigation at the scene revealed the operator of the vehicle, 17-year-old James T. Houlahan of Yorktown, and the passenger, 18-year-old Matthew H. Tuite of Shrub Oak,  allegedly drove their trucks across the grass at Lakeland High School, causing the damage.

Houlahan and Tuite were each charged with criminal mischief, a felony. They were processed and arraigned and due back in court on Tuesday, July 24.
