YORKTOWN, N. Y. -- A 21-year-old Yorktown Heights man and a Yorktown teen are facing drug charges, including impaired driving, after New York State Police stopped the car they were driving Monday on State Route 6 in Yorktown for a loud exhaust, police said.
Vincent A. Poggioreale of Yorktown Heights is charged with felony third-degree marijuana possession, seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police said.
He was the passenger in the car driven by an unnamed 18-year-old man, who is charged with misdemeanor impaired driving, police said. The driver is also charged with misdemeanor seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance after police found him with Alprazolam, police said.
The teen is due back in Yorktown court at a later date, police said.
Police said Poggioreale was found with 229 grams of marijuana and about 60 Alprazolam pills. He is out on $250 bail and due back in court on March 17, police said.
