The names of the male teenagers, 17 and 18, are being withheld due to their eligibility for youthful offender status, police said.
The alleged incident occurred about 9:25 p.m. Saturday at the Triangle Shopping Center, according to police.
Two officers were patrolling the shopping center when they said they spotted a suspicious parked vehicle.
Upon further investigation, police said the teens were in possession of marijuana and also illegally possessed another controlled substance. The press release did not identify the nature of the other substance the officers said they found during their investigation.
The teens were charged with two misdemeanors, criminal possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to police.
The suspects were released and are scheduled to appear Tuesday, July 17 in Yorktown Justice Court, police said.
