On Tuesday, acting Westchester County District Attorney James McCarty announced that Isaac McKnight, 24, has been sentenced to 12 years in state prison after pleading guilty to a charge of committing a first-degree criminal sexual act - which is classified as a violent felony - for his role in assaulting a 4-year-old child last year.

On Nov. 5 last year, while working at a part time employee at the Andrus Learning Center in Tuckahoe, McKnight sexually assaulted the 4-year-old, inappropriately touching the child while at the daycare facility. McKnight had only been employed at Andrus for eight days before the incident.

Once they were alerted, the Andrus staff quickly told police, and a multi-agency investigation was opened.

A week into the joint investigation by the Tuckahoe Police Department and Westchester County District Attorney’s office, McKnight was arrested and arraigned on the charges.

McKnight was remanded into the custody of the New York State Department of Corrections. Following his prison sentence, he will undergo 15 years of post-release supervision and must register as a sex offender.
