Woman Charged After Refusing To Leave Owner's Bed In Yorktown, Police Say

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 55-year-old homeless woman on a criminal trespass charge, authorities said.

Officers responded to a call alleging that a subject had been at an Underhill Avenue residence with a former acquaintance and was refusing to leave about 1:25 p.m. Saturday, police report.

After arriving at the residence, police located the suspect, identified as Lora Morgan, lying on the homeowner’s bed, according to officials.

Morgan allegedly refused to leave the residence after being told to go by both the homeowner and the officers, police report.

She was subsequently arrested and charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a class A misdemeanor, according to officials.

Morgan was transported to police headquarters and processed on the charge; the defendant was arraigned and remanded to the Westchester County Department of Corrections in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, police report.

She is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday evening, according to officials.
