Woman Charged With Felony DWI In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A Bedford Hills woman faces DWI charges after being stopped by police Thursday on Saw Mill River Road in Yorktown.

Yorktown police have charged Bedford Hills resident Kathryn P. Russell with driving while impaired by drugs, a Class E felony because of a previous conviction.

Police said they stopped Kathryn P. Russell, 43, near Broad Street about 8:30 p.m. after receiving reports of an erratic driver.

Police charged Russell with driving while ability impaired by drugs, which, they said, is a Class E felony because she had had a conviction in the last 10 years.

Russell was transported to police headquarters for processing and later turned over to a responsible party.

She is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday, Jan. 5, police said.
