Yorktown Man Attempts Assault, Endangers Child, Police Say

A 41-year-old Yorktown resident was charged with attempted assault and endangering the welfare of a child Friday.

Italo Martin was charged after Mildred Strang Middle School School Resource Officer Brian Mundy investigated an incident that occurred at Longvue Street on Thursday. Martin was arrested at his home.

He was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court on June 6. A Temporary Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the victim, police said.
