Yorktown Man Caused $500 Worth Of Damage To Bedroom, Police Say

A 21-year-old Northern Westchester man was arrested and charged Sunday after police say he caused $500 worth of damage to a bedroom door, door frame and wall.

Connor Sweeney of Yorktown was charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, a Class E felony.

At 3:20 a.m., Yorktown Police responded to a domestic incident that resulted from a verbal argument.  The victim locked herself in the bedroom and Sweeney damaged the bedroom door, door frame, and wall.

Sweeney fled the scene before police arrived but police were eventually able to locate him and transport him back to headquarters for processing.

He was released on $1,000 bail and an order of protection was issued for the victim. He is due back in court on Jan. 2 at 6 p.m.

In March 2016, Sweeney was arrested after Yorktown Police said he allegedly interfered with officers investigating a domestic dispute Police said Sweeney interfered with the investigation by threatening members of his family and by refusing to comply with the officers’ directions.
