YORKTOWN, N.Y. — A Yorktown man was arrested and charged by Yorktown police with assaulting a resident Thursday afternoon with a paint can.
Police received a call at 2:15 p.m. Thursday from a Crompond Road resident reporting a domestic dispute in progress. Police officers Craig Scatola and Justin Foley were dispatched to the scene and arrested Carlos Sandoval, 49, for allegedly punching and hitting a resident with a paint can.
Further investigation revealed Sandoval also stole $39 from the Crompond Road resident, police said.
Sandoval was charged with attempted assault and petit larceny, both misdemeanors. He was arraigned by Yorktown Town Justice Gary Raniolo, who served him with a temporary restraining order and sent him to Westchester County Jail on $1,500 bail. Sandoval is due back in court Aug. 9.
