Yorktown Man Charged In Staples Fight

YORKTOWN, N.Y. – A motorist was charged with assault on Aug. 21 after allegedly punching a man in the face in the Staples parking lot off Route 202, police said.

David Galati, 41, of Yorktown Heights, was arrested after he reportedly got into a dispute with another motorist about 3:30 p.m. He allegedly punched the other man and caused a laceration under his left eye, according to the police report. Galati was processed in Yorktown Justice Court and charged with assault, a class A misdemeanor. He is set to return to court at a later date.

In other police blotter news:

  • Louis Vitucci, 21, of Yorktown Heights, was arrested on misdemeanor criminal mischief charges after allegedly breaking the eyeglasses of a 22-year-old Somers man, police said. Vitucci reportedly broke the $157 glasses on Aug. 18, and turned himself in to police headquarters Sunday. He will return to court on Sept. 27.
  • Jacinta Arugundo, 27, of Yorktown, was arrested Tuesday after allegedly failing to appear at Yorktown Justice Court, police said. Arugundo was scheduled to appear Aug. 21 to answer for a past arrest of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property-damage accident. She appeared voluntarily at police headquarters about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after a bench warrant was issued by the Yorktown Justice Court. Arugundo was sent to Westchester County Jail on $5,000 bail and will return to Town Court on Sep. 4.
