YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Yorktown resident James P. Hunter Jr. was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and fourth-degree criminal mischief, both Class A misdemeanors, after he choked a resident, which caused no injury, and prevented the victim from calling the police on Wednesday, according to a report by Yorktown police.
Police said a call was received from a resident on Linette Court reporting a domestic dispute in progress. Police were dispatched to the scene and following an investigation arrested Hunter Jr., for the incident, according to police.
Following processing at police headquarters, Hunter Jr. was arraigned by a judge who served him a temporary order of protection and then released him on his own recognizance. Hunter Jr. is scheduled to answer the charges at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 5 in Yorktown Justice Court.
