YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Yorktown man was charged with choking a woman and threatening her with a knife during a domestic dispute on Labor Day, according to police.

Neil M. Quinn, 38, was charged after Yorktown police received a call from a female resident of Summit Street that a fight was in progress. When officers arrived at the scene they found that Quinn had allegedly choked the woman while threatening her with a knife, police said.

Quinn was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and menacing, and was served a temporary order of protection, police said. He was released on his own recognizance, according to police.

Quinn is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Sept. 27, police said.
