YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Yorktown man who choked a Scarsdale woman last month turned himself into Yorktown police last week, Yorktown Police said on Monday.
Evan Weissman, 39, was charged with criminal obstruction of breath and attempted assault during an event on Saturday, Aug. 6 on Sidney Court, police said.
According to police, a man and a woman came to the police department to report that Weissman had reached into a car and punched and choked the woman.
Weissman, who turned himself in, was charged and issued an order of protection to stay away from the victim. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 6.
