Viktor Curanovic, of 106 Stonewall Court, was taken into custody about 12:10 a.m. near the intersection of Route 118 and Underhill Avenue, according to Yorktown police.

Officers had responded to the area minutes earlier on reports that a man was unconscious in a car, according to police.

Curanovic, who has at least one driving while intoxicated conviction within the last 10 years, was found behind the wheel of a 2008 Dodge, according to police.

The Yorktown man faces a felony driving while intoxicated charge along with several traffic infractions. He also faces one count of being parked, stopped or standing on a highway, a violation, according to police.

Curanovic was processed at Yorktown police headquarters and released to the custody of a family member later Sunday after posting $100 cash bail. He is to appear in Yorktown Town Court at 6 p.m. on Nov. 24.
