YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 26-year-old Yorktown resident was arrested and charged after he tried to pay for prescription drugs with a check he knew was bad, Yorktown Police said.

Michael Goldberg was arrested and charged with Issuing a Bad Check, a Class B misdemeanor.

Police received a call from Taconic Pharmacy after they received a check for $74 from a closed account at Putnam County Savings Bank. Police said Goldberg knew the account was closed and did not contain sufficient funds. He turned himself into police on July 14.

Goldberg was released on $100 bail and is due back in court on August 15.

Last year, Goldberg, who worked at a BMW dealership, was arrested on theft charges in New Jersey for allegedly using a customer's checking account information to pay for his own car and insurance.
