YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Yorktown man set the house he shared with his elderly mother on fire Monday afternoon, then talked about it at a local bar as firefighters were dousing the blaze, police said, according to a story on LoHud.com.
An employee at the Crompond Road bar where Curtis Delano went after allegedly setting the fire called police, the story said. As other Yorktown officers were responding to the fire at 2512 Garden Lane, another officer went to AJ’s Bar & Grill and brought Delano, 54, in for questioning, the story said.
The case is still being investigated, Yorktown police told The Daily Voice.
Lake Mohegan firefighters and Yorktown police responded Monday afternoon to the fire and found Delano’s mother safely outside the home they shared, the story said.
