YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Bronx man who has been evading Yorktown police on a failure to appear warrant for more than three years, was arrested at the New York City jail on Riker's Island on Tuesday, July 26.
The warrant for Nelson Quinones, 29, was issued after he failed to show up in court for a hearing on a disorderly conduct charge that occurred on Dec. 19, 2013, in Yorktown. After receiving information that Quinones was being held at Riker's, Yorktown sent two officers to pick him up.
Quinones was charged with disorderly conduct and failure to respond, and processed at the Yorktown Police Department. He was released on his own recognizance and then placed in the custody of the Carmel Police Department for an outstanding bench warrant in its jurisdiction.
