Police were dispatched to investigate a report of a past larceny that occurred at the H&M clothing store in the Jefferson Valley Mall on Thursday, Feb. 11, at approximately 4:27 p.m., according to officials.
An investigation at the scene revealed that an employee, Zakheima J. McCoy, had allegedly made a fraudulent return for an unknown male and gave him the cash and the clothing, valued at $528.61, on Jan. 6, police report.
McCoy was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters for processing, according to officials.
She was charged with petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor, police report.
After processing, McCoy’s bail was set at $100, which she posted, according to police.
She is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, March 10, officials report.
