Yorktown Police Arrest Shrub Oak Resident On Traffic Infractions

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Barbara J. Nokaj, a 24-year-old Shrub Oak resident, was charged on Tuesday, Nov. 4, with a suspended registration, uninspected motor vehicle, failure to keep right and an uninsured motor vehicle .

Police say they received a call from a motorist reporting an auto injury accident at the intersection of Crompond Road and Granite Springs Road. Police conducted an investigation which revealed that Nokaj operated a 2002 Audi West bound on Crompond Road while the vehicle was suspended, according to police. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was also uninspected and uninsured and that Nokaj failed to keep right.

Nokaj was arrested at the scene and issued a traffic summons in reference to the charges. Following processing, Nokaj was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to answer the charges in Yorktown Court on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m.
