Yorktown Police Charge Man In Shoplifting Incident At Sears

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. – Kevin Olsen, a 29-year-old Peekskill resident, has been charged with petit larceny by Yorktown Police after he was accused of attempting to flee a Sears store without paying for merchandise, according to police.

Police say a call was received from Sears security on Wednesday, Nov. 19, reporting Olsen had left the store without attempting to pay for merchandise and fled the scene. Officers were dispatched to the scene and located Olsen on Bank Road, police said. An investigation at the scene revealed Olsen was in possession of a pair of headphones and a bolt cutter valued at $71.98, according to police. 

Following processing at the police headquarters on the charge, Olsen was arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court and was held at Westchester County Jail on  $250 cash bail. Olsen was ordered to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m.
