YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have arrested a 32-year-old Mohegan Lake resident on a charge of contempt of court.

Police received a report of a domestic incident on Sylvan Road just before noon Dec. 31, according to officials.

An investigation at the scene revealed that Joseph B. Spencer, who had left the scene before police arrived, had allegedly violated an order of protection issued by the Westchester County Family Court by communicating with a protected party, officials report.

He was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a class A misdemeanor, according to officials.

After processing, Spencer was arraigned and released on his own recognizance, according to police.
