YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have charged a woman from Peekskill with petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor, officials report.
Police responded to a report of a larceny at Macy’s about 8:40 p.m. Nov. 21, according to police.
An investigation revealed that a suspect, identified as Octavia L. Matthews, 40, allegedly removed two coats having a total value of $277.50 from a store display and exited the store without paying, police report.
Matthews was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing, according to officials.
She was later released on $250 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 17, police report.
