Yorktown Police Charge Two With Consuming Alcohol In Public Place

The arrests were the result of an officer’s investigation into a possible town code violation at Underhill Avenue on Sunday, April 17, at approximately 6:44 p.m., police report.

It was discovered that two men, identified as John J. Zaggogiannis, 71, and Megzon Kukaj, 22, were allegedly consuming alcohol in a public place, according to officials.

Zaggogiannis and Kukaj were arrested at the scene; both men were charged with consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place, a violation of the Yorktown Town Code, police report.

Zaggogiannis and Kukaj were issued appearance tickets to answer the charge in Yorktown Court on Tuesday, May 10, according to officials.

The defendants were released on their own recognizance at the scene following processing, police report.
