Yorktown Police Charge Yonkers Man In Hit-and-Run

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A Yonkers man was recently arrested and charged with drug possession and leaving the scene of an accident in Yorktown, according to a Patch report.

Police told Patch that the 23-year-old was accused of leaving  the scene of an accident on Route 6 on Nov. 29. The man was driving eastbound on Route 6 when  a vehicle driven by a Putnam Valley resident was struck, according to the report. The Putnam Valley resident suffered neck and back pain but was able to follow the Yonkers man onto the Taconic State Parkway until both vehicles were stopped by police on the Route 202 exit ramp, according to the report. 

Police said the 23-year-old was in possession of a small quantity of hallucinogenic mushrooms and marijuana, according to the report. He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Town Court on Dec. 19.
