YORKTOWN, N.Y. - A Jefferson Valley woman was arrested last week following an auto accident that revealed she was allegedly driving illegally.

According to police, shortly after 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, officers were dispatched to Route 6 near Barger Street in Shrub Oak, where there was a reported auto accident that involved property damage.

During the investigation, responding officers determined that Hershey Delapaz, 31 - who was involved in the accident - was allegedly driving with a suspended driver’s license, police said. Delapaz was subsequently arrested and transported to police headquarters, where she was charged with a misdemeanor count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and failure to notify the DMV of an address change - which is a traffic infraction.

Delapaz was processed and released on $250 cash bail. She is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, March 9.
