Yorktown Resident Charged With Numerous Driving Violations

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have charged a 25-year-old resident of Yorktown with driving with an invalid license.

An officer on routine patrol observed a 2013 gray Honda traveling east on Old Country Way displaying an expired inspection certificate on Sunday at approximately 8 p.m., police report.

The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was identified as Matthew Hernandez, according to officials.

A routine check on Hernandez’ driver’s license revealed that it was allegedly suspended for Hernandez’ failure to answer a summons out of the Bronx, police report.

Hernandez was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, an unclassified misdemeanor, and uninspected motor vehicle, a traffic infraction, according to police.

He was issued two summonses at the scene and released on his own recognizance, officials report.

He is due to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Thursday, March 24, according to police.
