Yorktown Teen Charged In Gas Station Robbery

YORKTOWN, N.Y. ‒ A Yorktown Heights teen is facing felony robbery charges for allegedly trying to leave a Shrub Oak service station without paying for an item and using "physical force" when an employee attempted to stop him, police said.

John Guckian, 17, was taken into custody at 11:19 p.m. Saturday when police responded to the Courtesy Shell Station at 930 E. Main St. 

He was arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court before being released to a family member on $7,500 bail. He was charged with third-degree robbery, a class D felony, and is set to return to court at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
