YORKTOWN, N. Y. -- An 18-year-old Yorktown man is facing driving while intoxicated and marijuana possession charges after Yorktown police stopped his car early Friday on Route 202 near Springhurst Street in Yorktown, police said.
The man, whose name is withheld because of his eligibility as a youth offender, is charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or greater, possession of marijuana and having an expired inspection decal, police said. He was released after posting $200 bail and is due in Yorktown Justice Court at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, police said.
Officers on patrol spotted the car about 1 a.m. Friday and noticed the expired inspection decal. After pulling the car over on Springhurst Street, police started their investigation, police said.
Police gave him a DataMaster test to determine blood alcohol content and found a small amount of marijuana in his possession, police said.
