YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have charged a 19-year-old Yorktown resident with possession of a controlled substance following an incident at Patriot Skate Park, authorities said.
The arrest came about following a phone call police received from a local resident asking officers to check on the welfare of a teenager on Sunday about 5:15 p.m., police report.
At the time of the call, police were told the teen, identified as Tyler B. Aulicino, was at the skate park at 355 Underhill Ave., according to officials.
Officers located Aulicino and conducted an investigation; Aulicino was taken into custody after he was allegedly found to be in possession of a quantity of Xanax, police report.
The suspect was taken to Yorktown police headquarters for processing, according to officials.
He has been charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, police report.
The defendant was released on $100 bail and issued an appearance ticket directing him to answer the charge against him in Yorktown Town Court on Tuesday, Sept. 27, according to officials.
He was then transported to Northern Westchester Hospital for a psychological evaluation, police report.
