Yorktown Teenage Girl Charged In Theft From Kmart

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Yorktown police have charged an 18-year-old female with petty larceny in the theft of merchandise from a Kmart store. 

The suspect was accused of stealing $21.44 worth of merchandise over two days.

The suspect's name is being withheld because she may be eligible for youthful offender status. 

Police responded to a report of a theft at Kmart, 355 Downing Drive, on Sept. 2. After an investigation, police determined that the suspect had allegedly stolen $21.44 worth of merchandise over two days, according to the police report. 

The suspect was taken to police headquarters for processing. She was released on her own recognizance, pending an appearance Oct. 1, in Yorktown Town Court.
