Yorktown Traffic Stop Leads To DWAI Arrest

YORKTOWN, N.Y. – A 26-year-old Thornwood man was taken into custody Thursday night when a routine traffic stop revealed there was a warrant out for his arrest, police said.

Yorktown police pulled over Aldrin Alonzo at 5:32 p.m. for reportedly speeding on Route 134. During the traffic stop, police discovered that Alonzo did not have a New York driver's license and also had an active warrant out of Pleasantville for misdemeanor driving while ability impaired. He was then turned over to the Pleasantville Police Department.

In other police blotter news: 

  • Kevin Valenzuela, 23, of Yorktown, was arrested early Tuesday morning on a charge of driving with a suspended license. The information was discovered following a traffic stop on Moseman Road around 7 a.m. Valenzuela was charged with misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and released on $50 bail.
